Red Dirt Ride Finals - Duncan, OK

Watch the horses dance!

Do you like watching a well performed dance routine? Do you also like watching horseback riding? Well if you do then you may want to visit the Red Dirt Ride Finals at the Stephens County Fairgrounds in Duncan, OK. This show will take place from July 26-28, 2013, and will showcase a synchronized routine performed by riders on horseback.

What you will see will resemble complex manuevers in dancing or synchronized swimming. The only difference will be this will be done by horses in an arena. The routines will vary from the horses walking to galloping. The competition is a team competition, and teams from as few as 4 riders to as many as 32 can compete in the event. Most teams will fall in the 4-16 riders category and will come from Oklahoma or Texas. But there will be a few teams from different parts of the country who come out to take part in the event.

There are four different divisions of competition: Freestyle, Rodeo, Short Program, and Theme. Theme is usually the final division to perform, as there will be many teams dressed in elaborate costumes for the performance.

In addition to the performances, there will also be a stall decorating contest and a poster decorating contest. On Sunday, there will also be Cowboy Church for anyone who wants to attend. There will be many different vendors present as well where people can buy different types of merchandise. And then if you get hungry, there will be concession stands to keep you and your family happy.

So come out to the Red Dirt Ride Finals in Duncan, OK, and have a good time with your entire family. - See more at: http://chickasawcountry.com/events/view/red-dirt-ride-finals-duncan-ok#sthash.Snuop7oA.dpuf
